Sword Fights on the Heights IV SFOTH IV x The Hunt: Roblox 20
Badges, UGC, hub buttons, and what changed when classic Heights went viral again.
Event snapshot
The Hunt: Roblox 20 runs through about September 28, 2026 (SFOTH objectives opened around September 17). It is Roblox’s anniversary scavenger event with year-themed challenges. Sword Fights on the Heights IV anchors the 2007 era for many players even though the classic place launched in 2008 - the Hunt framing still sends you into Shedletsky place 47324 for swords, badges, and the Duel of the Heights UGC. Finish the collector path while the window is open; when Hunt ends, the free earn routes close even if classic SFOTH stays playable.
This page is the updates/context view. Step-by-step button and sword routes live under Guides (Hunt walkthrough and Secret Quest pages). Map landmarks for Abyss and pedestals live on the Map guide.
Prerequisites and structure
Typical Hunt flow for the SFOTH year:
- Finish the prior era (commonly 2006 Crossroads) so 2007 unlocks.
- In the anniversary 2007 hub, talk to the pirate-hat NPC (Telamon-styled quest giver).
- Press five buttons around the hub until the counter hits 5/5.
- Enter the portal into classic SFOTH IV.
- Collect four swords (progress shows as Swords Acquired x/4). You spawn with Linked, so you need additional unique pickups - from pedestals or dropped blades.
- Earn the collector badge, return to the hub, and claim Duel of the Heights from the reward pedestal.
Death during the sword step generally does not wipe credited event progress even if your inventory empties - finish the counter, do not rage-quit after one void.
Badges and UGC
- Four Sword Collector / Classic Event: Sword Fight on the Heights IV Collector - awarded when the in-game sword counter completes.
- Duel of the Heights - free UGC accessory claimed in the Hunt hub after the SFOTH objectives.
- Secret Quest badge - harder follow-up that requires Four Sword Collector first. After you own the collector badge, the route goes through the Abyss (magenta portal), hidden bricks/doors, and launcher climbs. Details belong in the Secret Quest guide; do not confuse it with the main four-sword task, and do not waste Abyss attempts before the collector unlocks.
Event badges and free UGC claims are time-limited. When Hunt ends, those paths close even if classic SFOTH remains playable.
What players felt in September 2026
SFOTH IV spiked to enormous concurrents (community clips cite tens of thousands). That fame came with friction:
- Temporary R15-only periods and in-game shop disabled during Hunt prep
- Physics/authority jank: flings, rubberbanding, swords feeling broken
- Reports of Touchstone, spheres, and Battle Armor failing to spawn during messy patches
- Lag severe enough that max players were tuned - experience notes on 9/20/2026 set server size back to 20 after it was “too laggy”
If your Hunt run feels unfair, it may be the event load - not your Illumina fundamentals. Still learn Sword locations and Combat tips; crowded servers punish bad pathing harder.
Gameplay tips that still apply during Hunt
- Grab easy pedestals first; do not start with Ghostwalker bridge if you only need four swords.
- Illumina, Firebrand, Darkheart, and Venomshank are usually faster collector targets than perfectionist full-roster clears.
- Keep a Medkit mindset even on quest lives - poison ends runs.
- Avoid the magenta Abyss portal until you are intentionally doing the secret badge.
- Ignore “codes” rumors; Hunt progress is buttons + pickups, not redeem strings - see Codes Hub.
Community context
Creators and veterans streamed the revival heavily. Credit for keeping classic SFOTH playable also traces through earlier Quenty maintenance (see Patch notes). Remakes such as SFOTH IV: Reforged are separate experiences - Hunt objectives for this year point at the classic Shedletsky place, not every similarly named remake.

Quick legitimate route mindset
You do not need every sword for the main badge. A practical collector life grabs Linked plus three nearby pedestals, avoids Abyss until secret-badge time, and treats Medkit/Armor as insurance rather than optional cosmetics. When servers are packed, third parties will contest Illumina hardest - have a backup pedestal in mind from the Swords encyclopedia and Map guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many swords do I need for the Hunt badge?
Four unique swords on the event counter. Linked Sword counts as your starter, so gather additional pedestals or drops until the tracker hits 4/4.
Do I have to press hub buttons before entering SFOTH?
Yes for the standard 2007 flow. The five hub buttons unlock/complete the hub half before the in-game sword half.
What is Duel of the Heights?
The free UGC reward for completing the SFOTH IV Hunt objectives. Claim it from the hub reward pedestal after badges register.
Where does the secret badge take place?
After the collector badge, routing goes through the Abyss via the magenta portal and a hidden climb. Use the Secret Quest guide for the exact brick path.
Why is the server capped around 20 players?
Experience notes after Hunt launch reduced max players back to 20 because higher caps were too laggy under event traffic.
Are Hunt rewards permanent forever?
Owned UGC stays on your account once claimed, but the event earn path is limited to the Hunt window. Miss the window and that free claim route closes.
